Kellogg's Family Rewards

These are the free books I got from Kellogg's. How did I get them? By just simply buying their products that my family likes and  looked for the codes inside the box.  The codes can then be entered into their Kellogg's Family Rewards web site where you can earn points and redeem it for items your points will allow you. When I got enough points, I went to the redeem section and found these books. My kids love The Magic School bus show and upon seeing the book, I didn't think twice. The second book was just my choice, I think it's a good bed time book for my 5 yr old son.  What  I love about Kellogg's Rewards is that they have a program called Points with Purpose and Points for Potential. It allows you to redeem  points for money and donate it to charities or school/s of your choice.

So don't just throw your Kellogg's boxes away. Look for codes and  you can make a difference by helping others.

Giving Thanks

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Today is not just Thanksgiving Day, it is also my Birthday which makes me a very thankful person. I'm thankful for a lot of things and most of them are things that money can't buy. I am thankful not just for today but every single day of my life. As a Christian, It is good to practice thankfulness daily and make it a part of our life. The Bible tells us how good and loving God is. In fact, to show us His unconditional love, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the penalty of our sins. So we could be forgiven and spend eternity with God if you believed.

John 3:16

" For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

But if you ask me what I am thankful for? Well, I am thankful for my family, my children, church family, friends, good health, air we breath, sunlight, rain, water, job, home, food,  clothing, house, strength, wisdom, laughter, trials and God's guidance, His protection, His Word(Bible) and most of all for the Salvation He made available for us through Christ Jesus. The list goes on, like the song says " Count your blessings name them one by one, count your blessings see what God has done".  How about you? What are you thankful for?

Happy Thanksgiving to you all !!!

The Bible App for kids

As a parent, I always search for cool educational apps that my kids will like and enjoy while learning.
I was so glad when I found out  that Youversion just came out with their new app. The Bible app for kids is completely free to download for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and Android users. What I love about it, is that it's fun, interactive,  easy, it has kid-friendly navigation and colorful animations and illustrations. It has special challenges that let kids earn rewards too. Not only they are having fun but it will help them fall in love with God's word.

I was able to download this app on my Kindle fire and my  5 year old son loves it.  You can just listen to the story or read it at the same time. There are games where you can get gems or rewards.

Pastor's Appreciation Day

Pastor's Appreciation Day is an annual  celebration at the Ozaukee Christian School in Saukville, Wisconsin. So, on November 13, 2013  Pastors from different Christians churches in Ozaukee County gathered to have lunch, prayer, fellowship and meet the OCS students. Pastors who's church member's kids attend OCS. Our church Pastor was there  because my two older kids attend OCS for almost 2 years now. It was a wonderful opportunity to have lunch with him. That day too, my husband came home and surprised me after being gone for few days driving a truck to different states. I was the lunch mom that day so my whole family was there too.

After lunch, the children had a little presentation for them. They sung songs and gave their testimonies of how the school impacted their lives. There were games and giving away of prizes too. At the end of the program, the children prayed for each of their Pastors. In the picture, my older son, Shem is praying while my other son Shawn lifts his hand. Overall, it was a wonderful day where God was glorified and people were sanctified.

Sugar Twist Donut or Shakoy/ Lubid lubid Recipe

This is an excellent snack for kids and  grown ups too. Sugar twist in English and shakoy or lubid lubid in Filipino dialect. Is an all time meryienda in my country where you can buy it on the streets, public markets or  even in some bakeries.  I used to make this recipe when I was in the Philippines as a snack for my visitors,  family, church gatherings and business too. Yes! I was a small time businesswoman. I made shakoy and cupcakes for business, I sold them to   schools and offices. Now that I am here in the US of A, I would still make shakoy occasionally as a snack for family and church gatherings. Boy! my hubby fell in love with it and takes it to work. A lot of my American friends  love it too and asked for the recipe. This is best when served warm, match it with your hot coffee, hot chocolate or any cold drinks. I hope you guys enjoy this easy to make recipe. Even your kids will enjoy making this with you
