Looking Back When We First Met

Eight years ago, I met the love of my life, my best friend and the answer to my prayer for a husband through online chat.  And seven years ago we  met face- to- face for the first time and it was hilarious. He came to NAIA Airport in Manila, Philippines to meet me. Why did we meet in Manila? Well, he came from US to the Philippines on an earlier flight and  I was coming from General Santos City on a later flight. Also, we had to stay there because we needed to do some paper work at the US Embassy, Manila.

Our first picture being together

He didn't bring any pictures of me, confidently thinking he knew how I would look like in person. When he saw me, he yelled my name while waving his hand. I smiled and gave him a wave back. We gave each other a hug and said "hi". He was so shy and didn't talk  much. He wasn't even talking while we  we're inside the taxi heading to the hotel where we stayed for a couple of days. So, I finally broke the silence by asking  "Where's my kiss"?  He said  "in  my pocket". I was laughing so hard after hearing him. It was probably my pronunciation that made him think that I was looking for the keys. I still tease him about our first meeting every now and then.

Not our first date outside but our first picture in Pizza Hut, Gen. Santos, Philippines

Now, we have 2 children together that are boys. I also have a son from my previous relationship that didn't work out. No, I wasn't married before.  But, he  loves my son like his own son. So, all in all we have 3 boys and 7 years of strong and happy marriage and counting. A life that is fully blessed when God is the foundation of the marriage.

Here's our favorite verses:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not selfish, and it cannot be made angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it. Love is never happy when others do wrong, but it is always happy with the truth. Love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, never loses hope, and never quits. Love never end.

Matthew 19 :6
So they are no longer two, but one. God has joined them together, so no one should separate them.

  3. You made me LOL with the keys sis hahaha... Happy anniversary to both and may God blessed you more with blissful years!

I fooled hubby during our first meeting in NAIA. We agreed to use color coding for our clothing but I hid my yellow top with a black blazer so he did not recognized me lol.

    1. Sis my accent has caused a lot of ROFL between me and hubby. Even my kids correct my pronunciation. Thankfully, I have gotten better in speaking and writing English over the years of living here but the Filipino accent is still there ha ha. That's funny what you did at the airport. I was planning to do that too but changed my mind.

  7. Jhady, it was a very humorous first meeting, he makes me think that my jefoy is also the same the first time we met, he instantly knew me and when we were in the taxi no words are spoken until he hold my hands, sooooo kilig pero mas nakakakilig kayong dalawa.
