getting ready for fun |
This is his new rollerblades from k2skates, it was expensive but a nice quality one. We didn't want to get him a used one mainly for safety reason and we know he will be rollerblading a lot once he learned how to. Do you know the difference between rollerblades and roller skates? Rollerblades has 4 wheels in straight line while the roller skates has two sets of wheels on each side like your car.

I can rollerblade pretty good.. i have not done it in a long time.. but i know i can do it.. My kids have no interest in it, and i do not know why.. it is allot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI used to be *okay* at rollerblading - I'd hate to see how I'd do now!
ReplyDeleteYour husband is such a supporting and loving Dad to your kids!
ReplyDeleteI roller skated. They didn't have them when I was young. I did though about 20 years ago attempted. I managed. It was a lot like ice skating to me. Having to balance and all. I would never try again. Probably break a leg or hip. My kids loved to roller blade when they were younger.
ReplyDeleteI didn't start at any age I never did roller blade that I can remember anyways lol I have however skated with roller skates! I used to love that when I was young!
ReplyDeleteMemories that will last a lifetime! I like how safety is first. Now put on your blades and conquer the world!
ReplyDeleteIf we go to the skating rink, I grab a pair of old fashioned four wheel skates, hahaha I have been on blades though.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I started rollerskating before rollerblading. I was a pretty awesome rollerskater, and can still skate pretty well. While I learned how to rollerblade at around 10, I think, I never got as good at it as I was at rollerskating. And don't even get me near ice skating. I am terrible! I guess I do best with four wheels.
ReplyDeleteI haven't roller bladed in several years, I have no idea how'd I do on them now.
ReplyDeleteI tried rollerblading once and I spent more time on my butt than actually skating :)
ReplyDeleteHow much fun!!! I used to love rollerblading when I was younger. We used to go to Reva Roller Dome for birthday parties and skate all day.
ReplyDeleteI started skating at five and I still can remember hard it was to stand on the skate and develop the necessary balance. But I have loved skating since, it's my favorite winter sports, although I can do it myself anymore. After skating, roller skating came naturally during the summers. My son has been wanting to learn roller skating, maybe it's time to teach him.
ReplyDeleteI love rollerblading! The first time I went I forgot to ask how to stop so that was a little scary because I was used to ice skates and was going really fast. Fun though!
ReplyDeleteI never tried rollerblading before. It has always scared me!
ReplyDeleteIt has been years since I was on rollerskates. Awesome that you helped him learn how to do it.
ReplyDeleteso cool! i am horrible at all skating
ReplyDeleteMy brother and i used to roller blade on the cement part of our driveway when we were young. Where we grew up we didn't have side walks because we live in a very rural area. Great job teaching your son!
ReplyDeleteI think my son would love that! I need to buy him a pair!
ReplyDeleteWow! He's tall! I'm sure this is a moment he won't forget :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVED roller blading when I was in elementary school. I haven't done it in years but I bet it would be fun to try again.
ReplyDeleteOh boy I started rollerblading before I can even remember. But thats just because I play hockey! I haven't done it in awhile but always enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAhaha! I was a teenager when "roller blading" became cool. I refused ahah! I couldn't get used to the break being in the back, so I'd roll right onto my face. I stuck with traditional roller skates.
ReplyDeleteStunning blades. I remember my first time.
ReplyDeleteThose are some great looking roller blades. I have always wanted to learn too.
ReplyDeleteMichelle F.
my kids just learned how to rollerblade at overnight camp:)
ReplyDeleteI love roller skating! I need to start doing it again :D
ReplyDeleteAaaawwww...Father and son bounding. How many times he fell?
ReplyDeleteI remember roller blading, it surely wasn't easy at first to get the hang of it.
ReplyDeleteIt took my son some time to learn how to skate on them. I gotta give it to him, it's not easy at first but after re-trying he is a pro. Good Luck with your son.
ReplyDeleteWhen I bought my kids roller blades was when I started to learn myself. I actually ended up liking it a lot!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been rollerblading in ages and used to love doing so. I probably would break my back if I tried now, haha. Looks like your son is having a great time. =)
ReplyDeleteWay cool! I've never been roller bladding but I've always wanted to try it. It looks like so much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks fun! My daughter hasn't shown any interest in that yet but I remember loving it when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteAwws that's so sweet I suck for it but my kids are amazing I just sit in the porch while they roller blade with my hubby
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, I've never rollerbladed before- I would be nervous to try! :P
ReplyDeleteDid he love it? Has he been doing well since?
Stopping by to say hello and dish with you for a minute x

This is such a hard thing to teach. We bought a walker, like the old person kind, and let the kids use that to find balance. Fun post. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like your son had a very short learning curve to overcome on the rollerblades.
ReplyDeleteYour son looks really tall for his age!
ReplyDeleteI used to Rollerblade before my back injury. It isn't so bad once you get the balance. My son is a great hockey player (he is five but is bumpoing up to 7-8 year olds) and I think we are getting him a pair. You should try!!! u
ReplyDeleteOh good job!!!! I bet he had a blast. I used to roller blade in high school. I was known around town as the girl on roller blade in the McDs uniform! I was also in GREAT shape! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt was my childhood dream and also frustration to be able to have my own rollerblades but because of some reasons I am only able to place few times with rollerblades of my friends. I am so glad to see your son's photos together with his dad.
ReplyDeleteI remember when my kids learned how to roller blade. I was so worried they were going to fall and get hurt!
ReplyDeleteThis is one thing that I have never tried. I would probably break my neck but it would be great for my niece!
ReplyDeleteI have always been scared of this.. good to see him and you helping out..
ReplyDeleteI have not roller bladed for years. I think I was in my teens when I learned how. My oldest was really big on it and skate boards too. Nice roller blades. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAs a kid I used to go roller skating at the rink but have not done it since then. I always wanted to learn how to roller blade but I am chicken!
ReplyDeleteI was never a roller blading person, I was a BMX person. Such a nice family story. So touching.
ReplyDeleteTeaching kids to roller blade can be challenging. But it is a fun activity to do together
ReplyDeleteLOL.. that reminded me of an incident.. I tried rollerblades once.. few months back and I fell on my bums.. I tried to get up but kept falling again and again. That was the first and last time I tried my hands on Skating. Luckily I was at home, and only people laughing at me were my family members .... :p
ReplyDeleteRollerblading is definitely not as easy as it looks. Good Luck with teaching your son.
ReplyDeleteRollerblades make me nervous. I've seen too many injuries to let my ducklings anywhere near them. #CautiousAuntie
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to Rollerblade. I wish I had parents who took an interest in me learning the way you did with your son.
ReplyDeleteI used to race with my brothers with rollerblades on when I was in elementary. The rollerblades of your son looks great.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool! I like the roller blades! I haven't tried it and I hope it's as easy as the roller skates because I know how to skates. They said, it's a good form of exercise too as you get to flex different types of muscles in your body, helping you to burn more calories. Way to go to your kiddo! I hope he'll have heaps of fun in this new activity.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I learned, so much fun. I also have a lot of scars from cuts and such from falling but good memories.
ReplyDeleteI think if I tried that now, I will end up a crack head lol.
ReplyDeleteI used to roller blade growing up. I wasn't too bad either! Amber N
